The first long one – tough!

This was my first run over 15km. I wanted to test my stamina. With hindsight I wish I went on the canal or hard surface. The long grass, brambles, nettles and large areas of mud made running difficult and slow. By the end of the run I was struggling to keep going and did pause for a rest before climbing the final hill. I saw some great new areas of our local countryside. 
It was a good test, but I am now aware that I need to spend more time doing some longer runs. If I want to complete a marathon in under 4 hours I am certainly going to have to increase my distances.
